My journey at IU began alongside my internship at the Office of Student Employment (OSE) as a Career Services Intern. As a first-generation student with the weight of family responsibilities and dreams on my shoulders, coming to college felt like climbing a mountain with a heavy backpack. I embraced these challenges with determination, and this internship experience has been instrumental in helping me face them. One of the most valuable aspects of my role as a Career Services Intern was serving as a peer mentor. This significantly improved my communication and interpersonal skills while allowing me to be a resource for fellow undergrad students navigating their professional paths.
