I was a teaching intern at Fall Creek Valley Middle School in the Fall 2024 semester. During my time there, I observed and assisted for a full school day with my mentor teacher at least once a week. This paper was an analysis of two article from mainstream media new outlets and an analysis of their depiction of immigrants. The paper then uses several studies to analyze different effect of these media depictions and their relation with growing na ... tivist sentiment in Americans as well as the Donald Trump 2024 presidential victory. Through the use of agenda setting and the cultivation effect, the media helps put immigrants at risk of being victim to Trumps campaign promises of mass deportation. Read more

This story map chr ... p chronicles my journey along the trail, weaving together my real-world observations with insights from authors like Michael Pollan, Aldo Leopold, Jenny Price, and more. What began as a class assignment evolved into a deeper appreciation of how environmental literature can help us understand and interpret the complex relationship between urban development and natural spaces right here in Indianapolis.
